Your allotment's website

Allotmin can host a public website for your association at its own address, such as greenfields.allotmin.co.uk. Hosting and a secure (HTTPS) address are included.

Turn on your website

1. Go to Settings → Links and select the website option.
2. Choose your website address. Each address must be unique across all Allotmin associations.

A Website tab is added to the menu.

Website content

Your website can include:

• a main photo and a photo carousel
• a description of your association
• your committee members
• notices, such as news, AGM dates and working party dates
• documents from your library
• contact details
• a map, based on the address you enter
• a link to your online waiting list form

Notices

Each notice has a start date and an end date. The notice is shown on your website between these dates.

Meet the Committee

1. Go to Website → Committee.
2. Add each person's name, role and a short introduction. Optionally, add a photo. If no photo is added, the person's initials are shown.
3. Use the arrows to set the order.

Committee details are entered separately from member records. Changes to member records do not change the website. The Committee section is shown only when at least one person has been added.

Note: Ask each person for permission before adding them to your public website.

Photos

Photos are resized automatically when uploaded.

Draft and published

Your website is a draft until you publish it. A draft website cannot be seen by the public, but you can view it while signed in.

Search engines

Your website includes a title and description that you write, and information that helps search engines identify your association. Published websites are added to Allotmin's sitemap.

To hide your website from search engines, use the search engine setting.

Use your own domain

If your association already has a domain, you can redirect it to your Allotmin website.
