Members and plots
Giving a member a plot
Assign a plot to a member from the member's record or from the plots list.
You can assign a plot from the member's record or from the plots list. Both methods have the same result.
Assign a plot from the member's record
- Open the member and select Manage plots.
- Select the plot.
- Optionally, choose whether to remove the member from the waiting list.
- Save.
Assign a plot from the plots list
- Go to Plots.
- Next to a vacant plot, select Assign a member. The list shows members on the waiting list first, in position order.
- Select the member.
When you assign a plot this way, the member is removed from the waiting list and the positions of the members behind them move up. A message confirms this.
What happens when you assign a plot
When you assign a plot, Allotmin:
- marks the plot as occupied
- records the tenancy start date
- adds the member to the current billing year, if one is open, so that they are invoiced
- removes the "provisional" status from members who signed up through your online waiting list form
A provisional member is not shown in the main members list or included in All members emails. Provisional status is removed when the member is assigned a plot or linked to one as a co-worker.
End a tenancy
- Open the member and select Manage plots.
- End the tenancy for the plot.
The plot returns to vacant. The member's previous billing records are not changed.
