Letting people join your waiting list online

You can create a web address where people can add themselves to your waiting list. When someone signs up, they receive an email with their reference number and are added to the end of the list.

Turn on online sign-up

Go to Settings → Links and select Public waiting list sign-up. The sign-up link is shown, ready to copy.

The link contains a long random code. To replace the link, select Regenerate. The old link stops working immediately.

Share the link

You can add the link to your association's website, a social media group, an email or a QR code on a noticeboard. If you use the Allotmin website, the link is added to your page automatically.

After someone signs up

The person is added as a provisional member. A provisional member:

• is hidden from the members list unless you choose to show provisional members
• is not included in Add all members in the Messaging Centre
• is on the waiting list in position order

Provisional status is removed when the member is assigned a plot or linked to a plot. The member keeps their place on the waiting list.

Check waiting list position

People on the waiting list can check their position by entering their reference number on the waiting list status page. The reference number is included in their confirmation email. If you use the Allotmin website, the status page is linked from it.

Abuse protection

The sign-up form limits repeated submissions and blocks automated sign-ups. If an email address is already on your waiting list, no further confirmation email is sent to it.
